Quite the Scare!

We had quite a scare this past weekend. Our little granddaughter Addyson had fallen over on a chair in her other grandma's kitchen and hit her head. She seemed to be okay that day but the next day developed a soft squishy spot on the left side of her head. Thanks to Nana Teresa's quick observation of the spot, Fawn took her right to Primary Children's emergency to have her checked out and they admitted her that night. The CT scan showed a skull fracture with a significant amount of bleeding. She spent the night in pediatric intensive care and would show everyone her new "Owee" which was the IV they put into her hand.

The next day she was moved to the Neuro Science Trauma Unit and was monitored but was able to eat and drink so the IV was temporarily removed and she still had her "Owee" hand all taped up. When she came out of the crib she had to play on a mat for risk of falling again. She seemed to be in pretty good spirits wanting to play and run around (quite the difference from some of the other kids at the hospital). Addy just wanted to go home! The second CT scan they did that morning was worse than the first one and her blood pressure was really low.
Addy had a lot of visitors come see her and we are especially grateful for Daron and Uncle Darrell who came and gave Addy a blessing so she could get well. We want to thank everyone who came to visit and those who called to see how she was doing, your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated! Addy is now home and doing well, she just cannot be out of arms reach for fear of her falling and hitting her head. She is a little "clumsy" but that is due to her equilibrium being a little off from the head injury.
