Fawn' surgery

For all of you that have called and emailed or those that may not know, Fawn had her surgery yesterday to remove the quarter size lump from her breast. It was a pretty quick surgery and she was right back at home and is recooperating well. The doctor will be doing a biopsy on this lump and we should know the results in a couple of days but he claimed it looked pretty good and hopefully there was nothing cancerous. Thank you all for keeping her and her little family in your prayers, we appreciate everyone's concern for her.

Girls night!!

Shelby and I got to spend a little bit of time together as a girls night and had a little fun! We both got eyelash extensions! What a crazy idea! It was fun and did not really take too long. After Fawn had done them 5 mths ago and her eyes swelling up 2 days before her wedding we were a little bit unsure but they are kind of fun. Here our some photos of our new eyes!

They last about 3 mths and then you go in and have them filled, kind of like with your nails. You don't even have to wear mascara. We just thought a little pampering might be fun!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAMMY!

We were able (Neal and I) to help Tammy celebrate her birthday a day early! We happened to be coming into Salt Lake to meet an appraiser at our property in West Valley and decided to meet up with Kevin & Tammy at one of our favorite restaurant's "Applebees". They actually have a really good deal going on right now 2 for $20.00, as a couple we shared an appetizer and each of us had an entree' from a list of choices. It was really good and lots of food and of course we all had to load up the potatoes. Applebee's has really good mashed potatoes! Brings new meaning to a "cheap date" and since we don't get many dates this was kind of fun! Anyway back to Tammy, she is such a sweet sister in law, always ready and willing to go out on a limb for you through the good times and bad times. I really appreciate her being there for me when I have needed her to bend an ear! Happy Birthday Tammy!! I really hope you had a good birthday and hope that your family can keep the strength going to heal....remember that god only gives you what you can handle. We love you and look forward to the next time we can double date!

Love, Neal & Brenda

Happy Valentines Day!!

After recooping from Friday the 13th, Dad's birthday and our family's not so good news with Fawn, we tried to celebrate Valentine's Day to show our love for one another, Neal and I gave Fawn & Willis, Cheyenne and Princess Addy a little gift full of suprises, new heart clothes, jewelry sets for the girls and lots of chocolate!! Grandma and Grandpa or Damnma and Damnpa as Addy calls us like to spoil the girls and send the home!! LOL.. Fawn & Willis got coasters with photos in them, pillowcases that say "Always Kiss me goodnight", some warming body oil and lotion and sparkling Cider. We also gave TJ and his girlfriend Amber some of the same things and Amber's little boy we gave him lots of chocolate and some wood puzzles. Shelby & Tyler also got some chocolates, valentine shirts and Tyler got his gothic looking bath towels he wanted (he takes so much after TJ it is crazy! and Shelby also got her pillowcases that say "Always Kiss me goodnight".

Neal got lots of fun stuff (i won't go into detail) and some new comfy sleep pants, also some ice cream cupcakes from Coldstone Creamery. YUM!!
Shelby had been trying to talk us both into letting her have a miniature puppy and we had been telling her no since we do have 3 labs in the backyard (we had two but the female decided to get pregnant and have 11 puppies last April, we got rid of all of them but one so we kept her. Shelby finally got her dad talked into it when she said she would find one he could give me for Valentines Day! After driving all over on Valentines day and having our heart broke when the one little dog was taken away by someone else at the shelter, we came home. However, we found the cutest little dog advertised later that night and we just got home from picking her up. She is a purebread Lhasa Apso who is about 7 weeks old and we named her "Bella". Here are a few photos....I guess you would say that was my valentine! We love her.

My cute little angel grandbaby Addy just loves her too....also I have to show you, we are finally able to put pigtails in Addy's hair!!!

She does not like to sit still at all so they are all crooked!! Oh well, at least we can pull it up a little bit!!

Happy Birthday Don!!

Today is Don's birthday and the family is really missing him. He passed away April 9, 1993. This photo is of little Shelby's (who is now 17) first birthday party in January 1993. Don and Darlene (Shelby's grandparents and sister Fawn are in this photo to help Shelby celebrate her very first birthday). This might have been one of the last photos we have of Don before he passed. We really miss him and wish he was here. Keep smiling down from heaven and we will be watching for your pennies! We love you!!

This poem was written by Tammy when little Tyler was born. Tyler did not ever meet his Grandpa Don here on earth but maybe in heaven before Tyler came to us.

Today is such a special day
For Tyler Don Van Cott has been sent our way
He came to earth
On this given day, we call birth
He left his grandpa Van Cott who he loved
But knows grandpa will walk close with him from up above
As he jumped down off grandpa's knee
It was time to go, for loved ones waiting on earth to see
Grandpa I shall miss you while I am gone
But shall be know on earth As Tyler Don
As he turned to wave good bye
He saw loved ones on earth waiting for his little cry
IT'S A BOY!!!!
The doctor said with great joy
Hi MOM, Hi DAD
I'm here aren't you glad
Sorry for the little wait
For loved ones lined up at heavens gate
I just left heaven and God Above
To you my earthly parents whom I love
With his sweet little spirit
Loved one's came closer to see if they could hear it
Today I will start my life from heaven to earth
And thank you my parents for my given birth.

We all remember Don and his passion for golf, Grandpa Don you have passed on your legacy and talent for golf to many of your grandkids including a granddaughter, Shelby. She is on the High School Golf team (the boys team as a freshman and now the girls team since the High School has finally sactioned in the girls, her Sophmore & Junior year). She is hoping to achieve a scholarship for college through golf....thank you Grandpa Don for helping pass on your talents!!

Dreams- Wish it-Dream it-Do it

That old wind that's whipping out there
It's whistlin' your tune
That wind blew pyramids to Egypt
And footprints to the moon
And that old star that you been wishin' on
Is shinin' mighty bright
But it's the fire inside your heart
That's gonna lead you to the light
How you ever gonna know
What it's like to live there
How you ever gonna know victory
How you ever gonna know
What it's like when dreams become reality
How you ever gonna know
How it feels to hold her
How you ever gonna know
What it's like to dance
How you ever gonna know
If you never take a chance
You know failure isn't failure
If a lesson from it's learned
I guess love would not be love
Without a risk of being burned
Anything in life worth havin'
Lord, it has its sacrifice
But the gift that you're receiving
Is worth more than a price
How you ever gonna know
What it's like to live there
How you ever gonna know
What you never knew
How you ever gonna know
If you're down here doin'
What the good Lord put you here to do
How you ever gonna know
If you could have done it
How you ever gonna know
How it feels to fly
How you ever gonna know
If you never dare to try
Listen not to the critics
Who put their own dreams on the shelf
If you want to get the truth to admit it
You gotta find out for yourself
How you ever gonna know
What it's like to be there
How you ever gonna know
If you're the best
How you ever gonna know
What you believe in
If you don't put it to the test
How you ever gonna know
How it feels to hold him
How you ever gonna know
What livin' means
How you ever gonna know
If you never chase the dreams
How you ever gonna know
Your potential
How you ever gonna know victory
How you ever gonna know
What it's like when dreams become reality
How you ever gonna know
How it feels to hold her
How you ever gonna know
What it's like to dance
How you ever gonna know
If you never take a chance

6 of 6 Tag!!

Ok Tasha, I will play the game..

I was tagged by Tasha Mayfield when I read her blog.

Here's the game:
1) Go to your picture folder, or wherever you store your photos on your computer
2) Go to the sixth folder and pick the sixth picture
3) Post it on your blog and tell the story that goes along with the picture
4) Tag four friends to do the same

Since I am at work, this is my 6th folder and 6th photo!

This is a photo when my family and I went on our Cruise last January. We stopped at Cabo San Lucas and this was taken at a place called the Giggling Marlin when we stopped for lunch. The adults got red and green shots slammed down their throats and then was hung like a Marlin after a nice catch! This is a photo of Tyler hanging their like a Marlin...too funny this was the photo. We had such a good time on this cruise and we also got to celebrate my little Shelby's 16th birthday at the time. I wished the rest of my family was able to go and spend this time with us but my parents, my hubby and my Shelby & Tyler were the only ones that did go. We will have to plan it again sometime!

***I now tag.....YOU !!! Yes, you ! If you just read this you have been tagged !!!***
