Thank God my daughter had the smarts to wear her seatbelt!

Shelby was driving home from Park City after getting a very early morning breakfast and fell asleep at the wheel. She had a friend with her and both of them were smart enough to wear their seatbelts. Shelby crossed over 2 lanes of oncoming traffic and was woken by the rumble strip or the guy honking his horn at her as he approached them. She corrected and hit her brakes, but unfortunately a little too late. The back end of her explorer started down the rocky hill. Witnesses claim, they rolled at least 4 times, FORTUNATELY they both escaped with slight bruising and some cuts from getting out of the vehicle. THIS IS SO SCARY AND REALLY COULD HAPPEN TO ANYONE! PLEASE BE SAFE AND WEAR YOUR SEATBELTS! When Shelby first started driving I gave her a visor clip angel that said "Daughter drive safely". Two days after the accident, i went to the site to try to find articles that were missing from the car. The most important thing i found was this visor clip that I had given her. Very ironic isn't it? Shelby we love you and hope you realize how this really could have turned out. We want to see you graduate, go to college, become a golf professional, get married, have kids...etc..please be safe!

Happy Mothers Day!

Happy Mother's day to all you mothers out there! We had a pretty good day, we went to Neal's mothers and vistited with her for a bit and even got to see miss Addyson before she headed off with her mommy to the zoo! Then off we went to a park and spent part of the day with my mom's family. My brother and I took a photo with our mom, then there was my aunt Jenette and her two girls Melinda and Stacey and Mindy's daughter Courtney. We got to see grandma Jean and I gave her some muffins and some chokecherry jelly....aw...i remember as a little girl picking choke cherrys at the cabin we had in Samak and my grandma made chokecherry jam out of it, what a fun little day we had! Thank you to my kids that made it special!

Rodeo in Herriman

Once again we spent another wet rainy weekend rodeoing! Yes the rodeo does go on! Shelby had an okay pole run and did awesome in her barrels! The weather did not keep Fawn and Addy and Kevin and Tammy to come out to watch. Thank you for your support guys! We really appreciate you following the rodeo trail with us. After the rodeo we all went to IHOP for some yummy breakfast! Addy is such mischeivious child! Later that night Shelby came home late from curfew and Addy told her Shelby...you are in twoubllle! It was so funny Neal and I had to laugh. Aw the joys of being parents to teenagers.

Happy Anniversary to my Hunny!

Today is Neal and I's 19th anniversary and I wanted to let everyone know how much I really truly love him. He has been with me through thick and thin and yes we have had our ups and downs but we are happily married.

Here's a toast to the two of us
As we celebrate together;
We are the poster kids for happiness,
In sunny or stormy weather.

Our love continues, warm and bright;
May it shine throughout the years;
We are an example for the rest of us,
So here’s to us: Three cheers!

Rodeo Time Again...and we are such die hard Rodeo fans

This last weekend we drove up to Logan and spent our first night in our horse trailer for Shelby's rodeo the next day in Logan. We woke up to a fairly nice day, then the rain came and after Shelby's pole bending run we went back to the trailer to warm up a bit. While we were in there, low and behold....here came the snow. Needless to say Shelby's barrel run was quite interesting....

We then gathered up all our gear and got ready to head to Tremonton for the next rodeo that same day. Here is a a photo of Neal, Shelby & Tyler

We got into Tremonton and the sun actually started to warm things up a bit, we sat outside trying to get some sun...even Bella was relaxed!

Shelby's pole bendng run and barrel run were both clean and great! She did so good, we were so happy!!

Next week we will be in Herriman in the morning...ready for another rodeo weekend!

Shelby's Accident

Shelby was in an accident Thursday night and we were at the hospital until 3am! All the parties involved are fine, just a little bit sore! Shelby and MacKay (her boyfriend) were traveling in his car with a couple little girls (MacKay's cousins), yes they were all wearing their seatbelts and someone backed right up into them while they were driving, MacKay did not have any time to brake hence the head in the windshield. Yes...Shelby's head. The other guy backed into the passenger side and so the whole side of the car, since MacKay was still traveling got wrecked. No airbags deployed because it was not a frontal hit. MacKay ended up with 34 stitches in his forehead and the little girls were fine too just a bit shaken up. Shelby had to have 4 x rays and a CT scan but seems to be fine, just some MAJOR whiplash and a neckbrace and the day after a nice big black bruise on her forehead. Thanks everyone for all your calls and concerns, she is fine. Here are some photos of Shelby and her boyfriend at the hospital, the windshield from Shelby's head beating and the car!

Tyler is quite the little drummer in his band!

Tyler and his band have done some recordings and I will put that on a little later, but I wanted you all to see the cd cover they have created and his band name.

They call themselves "Fracture", anyway they practice AT MY HOUSE two days a week (drums are too hard to transport, ain't i the lucky one)! They really are getting pretty good at this....more to follow later....

Shelby's Junior Prom

Shelby and her friends all got together to go on a "Day" date prior to Junior Prom. They chose to all go to Hollywood Connections in West Valley. They spent time there, dined at Training Table for a quick lunch, tried to go bowling at Delton Lanes but they had leagues going and ended up "cruising" Valley Fair mall before heading home to get ready for prom.

Shelby had her hair done by Megan Mcphie with Skissors Salon out of Heber, she is such a great friend and does a great job!
And here is the finished Shelby.....she is just gorgeous and way to grown up...AND YES SHE CHOSE THE PURPLE DRESS!!

Mackay came to pick Shelby up and brought her a beautiful wrist corsage. They make the cutest couple and really looked very elegant!

Shelby had a pretty purple rose made into a bootaneer for Mackay and she struggled trying to pin it on his jacket but she did it!

The went to Pasillas in Kamas for dinner (this is where Shelby works) and they had a nice table reserved especially for them!

The prom started at nine and Shelby's Junior class had a group photo done at 9:30, from there the "Promenade" the Junior class was first announced and then they performed for the parents.

After the "Promenade" they had the parent who bought the beautiful dresses and or tuxes dance with their child. Neal got to do the honors even though I bought the dress....ha ha!

We were able to get a few pictures of Shelby and Mackay dancing before they were off to get their professional photos done for the prom.

We then took some more photos of all of us together and dressed up for this special occassion and then we were off to let the cute couple have a fun time....needless to say we did not get home until 11:30! The promenade did not start until 10 pm...but she had a great time and Mackay is such a nice, respectful gentleman!
